My name is Guy Stanley Meloy, but I go by Stan. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with 'Qualified Clinical Supervisor' certification, Marriage and Family Therapist, former paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, and a second generation Army brat. My father was a career Army Officer (Airborne/Ranger/ Infantry) with two tours in Vietnam and my son served as an MP in Afghanistan.
I enlisted in 1974 (after dropping out of college) and look back on those days with more amazement and pride than I felt when I was in. Old guys always do. Best experience of my life and I didn't even know it at the time.
Completed my enlistment, earned a BBA, and eventually moved to New Mexico to become a commercial pilot.
In 1992, I completed a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Montana State University and then earned my Ph.D. from Michigan State University.
I've come full circle now - back in Fayetteville among soldiers again. It gives me great pleasure to serve in this way and I'm so glad it's you and not me anymore. It's a hard life and I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do.
