Individual Veteran, Active-Duty or Spouse

Our counselors are highly seasoned and experienced - both in real life and academic training. We view individuals with respect to everything and everyone in their lives -  including the values, needs and expectations they grew up with. We think it's hard to be objective about ourselves, or to appreciate how much control we have to affect change.

Our goal is to help the individual understand the nature of the "presenting problem," notice what's not working and develop a game plan that will.

Primary areas of expertise include:

  • Anxiety

  • Anger

  • Depression

  • Post-traumatic stress

  • Drinking

  • Military stressors

  • Personal relationships

Military Couples

Marriage is exhausting enough without bringing the Army into it. We get that - along with the team work it takes to adapt and drive through the constant change, sacrifice, unpredictability, and separation.  It's easy to feel over worked and underpaid under those circumstances - especially if you’re the one who didn't volunteer to be in the military. We counsel couples through an “Army life” lens aimed at strengthening communications skills, breaking bad habits, building appreciation, reconciling hard feelings, regaining trust, balancing needs, and focusing on the future.

Primary areas of expertise include:

  • Loss of affection, appreciation

  • Unresolved anger, pain, fear

  • Conflicted marital roles, rules, expectations

  • Drinking

  • Separation/Divorce

  • Deployments

  • Infidelity

  • Parenting

Military Kids And Teens

Army "brats" confront real-world issues civilian kids can’t even imagine. Beyond the normal wear and tear of child development, there’s greater uncertainty and disruption around stressful realities. These kids don't have roots in one neighborhood, nor friends from the 1st grade through high school. But they do have a parent who might be sent into a war - or is home recovering from one.

Primary areas of expertise include:

  • Defiance

  • Depression

  • Aggression

  • Divorce

  • Sadness

  • Substance use

  • Poor socialization

  • Academics
